The only reason i put 5 stars is so maybe people will see this and save themselfs the trouble. I can't even give one star.. Please do not stay here. Booked the motel for my brothers graduation in Columbia South Carolina, the pictures looked decent like any other cheap motel. It wasn't even worth 20$. Got to see the rooms before we actually checked in and the were in bad shape. Only one or two outlets worked, only one light worked, holes in the doors, bathroom tiles falling out in the tub, no door handles, dirty linen in the rooms, old toothbrush, front door didn't even shut right, stains everywhere, what looked like blood on a soap bar.... Just all around bad but hey we just needed a place to sleep since we weren't going to spend much time at the place. Got back to the motel after visiting the ocean hadn't even been there 24 hours and found a roach in the bathroom and a bed bug on the bed, oh and on the wall. Went right up to the office to request my money back because we obviously weren't staying there and the lady was rude and tried telling me to call the online number to get my money back sense i booked online(i tried booking over the phone in the first place and they said it is only online) the number online is to this same place and they are independently owned so calling cooporate although they are friendly wouldn't help. The lady kept telling me this and would not give me the managers number. I have to file a dispute with my bank now in order to hopefully get my money back for a place i didn't even spend one night in. Please if you are looking for a place to stay keep looking. We ended up staying at a motel 6 it was so much better and everyone was friendly. Almost anywhere else would be better than the magnuson motel.

I actually put in an earlier review but have since found out new information. About two weeks after visiting for the Eclipse, I had an amazing itch on my right arm that would not go away. it spread to my bodice middle and shoulders. My Dr. said it was an allergic reaction to something maybe in the sheets or detergent there. Use antihistamines. I believed it and gave my last review--I advised that customer service was good, but don't visit until they're finished renovating.
Lights and plugs didn't work. They do not offer the continental breakfast they advertise. Office is supposed to open at 6am for coffee but the lady didnt want to open up. I was trying to get a cup of coffee before seeing my son graduate bootcamp.
Maid service very mast and rude. When they did clean room it was half ass. Never cleaned bathroom orr windows and mirror very noise y at night with people sitting in parking lot at all hrs of the night with lound music. Was sort five dollars one day mang said bring it latter did that night but the next day he was telling me I didn't. I guest for the price it OK if u can deal with the noise dirty rooms hole in the walls. Then it ok
I'm still waking up scratching 6 weeks later. This morning, my spouse found and identified a bed bug. OMG. Now I know. Totally unacceptable. Unprofessional. No one should have to go through the discomfort and now cleaning of my home all for a sub-standard $70 room. I'm being honest, truly. Do not every stay at this establishment.
