I evacuated..upon my checking in,I was informed there was no cable in the building..OK!! Sitting in my room, after checking in my room, the lights went out n all guests were informed that electricity would be restored.. After sitting in this hot room for hours, nothing changed.. Being that I was an evacuee,I had bought groceries n other drinks for me n my family.. Thanks to the power company,I lost it all.. Getting really frustrated,I went to the front desk for help n their was no one there.. After a brief search,I found someone n started to see sparks from a power line.. Now I'm frantic of course...so finally after 5 hours n darkfall, the power company did come to work on the power lines only to give the front office lights n the houses across the streets.. Now I'm angry at this point only to find out,the office n hotel isn't tied to the same power lines..well,with winds at 50-60mph n temperature at 67 degress, what's next..can't plug in a heater or lamp..since its evacuation day for the whole southeast, there are no other available rooms tgroughout this city...I went out n bought candles n shared with other guests because for comfort, some couples were laid up in bed with their doors opened or sitting in their doorways eating dinner on a towel..hotel staff didn't mind because they live on property n once again were comfortable in their habitats with electricity..lights remained off all night,n when I stepped outside for some daylight,I noticed some guests had their windows up.. That crossed my mind too,but for my own safety,I didn't have the strength to do it,or I would've lost all my sleep...I did bump into the hotel manager around 10am n he did inform me that lights were back on..OK,thanks mister, check out time IS at 11...
Safe for quick traveling and some morning perks as well
This was the worst hotel I have ever been at. The guy at the front desk was less than pleasant. The office was a complete disaster. I can't believe they allow food to be served there. Of course maybe they don't, we didn't bother to check. The door to our room didn't shut all the way. The whole room was covered in a weird sticky funk. The beds were as comfortable as sleeping on concrete. The "blanket"was little more than a sheet. I have never been more frightened to stay somewhere. My family was here for my son's graduation from BCT at Fort Jackson. We went to check out the city and found a Super 8 that was within walking distance from the base. We decided even though our reservation was paid for and not refundable, to take the loss and get a room there. When I was originally planning this trip there was no where else to book a room and the reviews weren't that bad. Well guess what....they should have been. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! You will be better off sleeping in your car, and probably safer. This place reminded me of a drug house you see on TV. It was disgusting! The pictures that they show online are NOTHING like reality! Maybe when they first opened, but not now. If I could give negative stars I would.
I had reservation for a room but then I wanted a big one and they help me without problem and gave me a comfortable big room, with discount, the miss Ivone in front desk was kind and friendly with us all of the time. My family feels good here because is cheaper and with a good customer service, also they help us with our door when we close bad the door and then we couldn't open it, the owner helped us with that, so we are comfortable here. Is independent and safe and that is important for us. Absolutely I recommend here
I had no major problems with the room it was clean, it had a small microwave and refrigerator which was fine, but it had a stale odor which I sprayed it down. My main concern was the bath tub, it was like it was sitting on top of something else it was hard getting in and out I slipped more than once, and it wasn't anything in the tub to stop you from falling, and getting out was worse it was like you had to step several feet down to reach the floor, but overall all it was in a good location of everything I needed as far as shopping
