I got my fiancee's engagement ring custom-made at Michael's Jewelry in Trenholm Plaza. Ron made the ring from scratch based on a poor quality photo I brought in of another vintage ring. He was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process, ensuring that he made the ring exactly how I wanted (he even called me in to review the initial carving before casting it into metal). He had to resize the ring once for my fiancee but he did it for free. The cost was very reasonable, especially considering that it was custom-made by hand. Our experience was so great that we went back to him for our wedding bands several months later. I wasn't surprised to see that he remembered us. If you have a special jewelry need, I can't recommend this place highly enough. Ask for Ron.

Poor service. Took some costume jewelry there for repair, was initially told they couldn't do it, but they ended up taking the piece anyway. Said they wouldn't charge me if they couldn't fix it. Went to pick it up, looked great, paid over $80 for the repair. Broke before I could wear it once. Went back to ask for a refund and was told, Well it was fixed when you picked it up, I can't guarantee it once it leaves the store. What? You can't guarantee an $80 repair? Wouldn't offer anything in the way of restitution. Will never go back there again.
Best service. . Personal attention and he really listens to your needs. Michaels has beautiful jewelry that is not mass produced - my husband and I got a vintage engagement ring and band that was from an estate sale. Very knowledgeably about style and period pieces, as well as stones and diamonds, etc. I've been to many other fine jewelry stores, but we've only bought from Michael's at Trenholm.
