Basically my experience with this practice I would rate it a 1. The doctor I had was Syed Gilani. I had hoped he could provide a solution to ease my constant exacerbations. I was on 2 steroid inhalers, and after about 6 months they stopped working all together.I felt he could not help me or provide any solutions to get relief from wheezing and exacerbations. I was a patient there for 3 months, driving back and forth from Orangeburg, South Carolina. My third month their as a patient I called the on call/office that night. This was in October 2014 or or a couple weeks after my last appointment. I was barely able to breathe getting worse that night. My first instinct was to call the on call doctor to see what I should do. I got a call back from Dr. Laura Herpel. "Hello" , I explained my problem, and the fact I couldn't really breathe or wheezing. The response from Dr. Laura Herpal was "why are you calling me and waking me up". You woke me up and I was sleep. Ok at 10:30pm at night you were sleep, but could not respond to a patient who clearly couldn't breathe, and clearly couldn't think because she couldn't breathe. Come on and I was in absolute disgust. I hate what happened, and I felt that she violated her code of ethics as a pulmonologist/doctor. You are a pulmonologist so you should have help the patient the best way you could even on call! I hope the someone in higher authority deals with this. I was just so hurt by this, and never had a doctor treat me this way when ill.
