I like and hate it here... goood things: on the river, close to interstate, close to downtown, close to zoo, cloe to river front, you can bike to th river front from your home, good pricing on 2 bedrrom upgradedhomes, thy have a hot tub... the bad: I can never take a shower without having to hop back ou because the water pressure is all screwed verry in convenient, horrible staff, maintenance takes forever to fix your problem, they put extra charges on your bill and don't tell you about it till you get your bill, the gate is always always broken so is the 2nd gate what's the point of a gate key if its always broken?, the lights that light up the stairwell is always out..especialy at night when ou really need it. I just would not ever live here again... o yea last but not least there are a lot of ignorant people that keep you up at night with there yelling and screaming..not good.
I would definitely agree with all of these other reviews. I have a one bedroom and a laundry list of things I hate about this place. The first problem I noticed was that you can only take ten minute or less shower because if not, the water will get freezing. Second, there is a major bug problem. The bugs hide in my cabinets, even though I never have food out and regularly change my trash bag. When I first moved in, I had a massive ant problem and had to buy the materials to kill them myself. I live in building six and the power and water goes off randomly ALL THE TIME. There has been countless times when I have come home to the power being off or have needed to get ready for work and can't take a shower or leave my dog water before I leave. The "maintenance" men are lazy and incompetent. Pretty sure they just ride their golf carts and get high all day long instead of helping the residents. The girls that work in the front office are... a whole other story. Rude and dumb sums it up. OH and you can't walk through any grass without stepping in dog poop.
So if you enjoy bugs, poop, cold showers, and living in the dark... Well this is the perfect place for you.
The amount of space you get for the price is just about the only upside to this place. Management and the ladies working in the office (except one really nice lady) are rude and always seem bothered by your presence. The area is absolutely not safe and the gates are ALWAYS broken. Even if they aren't they stay open so long four or five cars can get in. Random fees seemed to be added every so often. No one picks up after their pets. I know it was unsafe bc I had to call the police to get a drunk homeless man away from my front door. I informed the office and I was told that they didn't believe me. Even after showing them the incident report. The short brunette girl said, "crazy..." and that was it. I liked the apartment itself but I bit the bullet and paid to break my lease just to get out of there. We now live on the other side of that main road at broad river trace and are loving it.
Horrible apts! I would not move here if i were you! They moved us into an apartment were the carpets were very nasty. We asked them before hand to have the carpets replaced and they said no! We continued to have issues with broken things in the apartment but maintenance never came to fix them! Every time we would go to the office, the girls as well as the general manager were always very nasty. They lied on the cable company about allowing them to come fix a problem. Rivergate will not do a thing for you but make sure you have your rent money on time because that is what they want, YOUR MONEY!!! the only thing good about this place is they allow larger dogs but the small dogs they poop everywhere mess it up for everyone because their owners are too lazy to clean up after their pets! AWFUL PLACE! Stay away!
Most of the comments on here seem right to me. I lived here a few years ago and the thing I remember most about it was that they nickel and dime you to death, and the staff was rude unless you were turning in your rent check.
