This place is absolutely TERRIBLE! Unprofessional, rude, and money hungry!! My cat was acting very lethargic and vomiting. We brought him in, doctor diagnosed urinary blockage. They gave us 2 options. $1500 for a 3 day stay and urine catheterization to flush his bladder, or euthanize him. The entire time we’re sitting in the room crying thinking we’re going to have to put our beloved Kovu to sleep because we can’t afford this ridiculous procedure, they are in the back talking very loudly about our cat, about the other pets back there, etc. One nurse came in asking if we wanted her to apply his flea and tick stuff and we are sitting there crying and she looks at us like we are stupid for telling her she’s in the wrong room. My husband had to basically bully the doctor into admitting that they could in fact drain his bladder and give him pain meds so we could take him to our vet during regular hours. And then they gave us 4 more doses of this medication “because your vet probably won’t have it” (charged us for it of course), but we got him to our vet before enough time had passed for the first dose. They literally try to scare you into thinking they are the only option you have. Thank God for my regular vet, who is doing literally the exact same procedure, keeping my cat for even MORE days, and only charging $300. Go to this place to get a diagnosis to make sure your animal isn’t dying, but do NOT let them bully you into thinking you only have the 2 options they give you up front.
These are the worst humans alive. I seriously can't think of anyone worse. If I could give them negative stars I would. This morning at about 2am we took our dog, Fauxpaws, in because he was obviously really sick and in pain. We showed up frantic and we were greeted by the rudest and slowest girl that took forever to get him looked at. When they finally took Faux back we were told we couldn't go with him. After literally 5 minutes they invited us back to his room. By this time my dog, that they knew was already in heart failure, was gasping for air and panicked. It took the vet FOREVER to come talk to us, and we were the only people there. We heard them laughing and cutting up in the back while we were literally in tears thinking our dog was taking his last breaths. When the vet finally found the time to come talk to us he told us that my dog had a temperature of 104 but he wouldn't tell us much more until he wrote up and "estimate" for diagnostic tests. We told him that we just can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on more treatments that we have already tried and don't work. I'm not going to put my sick dog through anything I don't have to bc it will just make him suffer more. We asked if he would make it thru the night and the vet laughed and said he wouldn't tell us anything else without running more tests. We decided to wait until we could get to Faux's normal vet. He said he still had to write us an estimate before we could leave. So we sat there, crying and panicked, while he took another 20 minutes to write up and estimate for $1000 that we already said we didn't want. By the time we checked out the girl was as rude and slow as she could be. It was honestly like they were having fun watching my dog suffer. These people are sadistic. This isn't an animal hospital. It's a cruel money machine that thrives on the panic and helplessness of loving pet parents. This is one of many terriblek experiences we have had with them. Honestly any other vet in town is better than these people.
Worse vet experience ever! Took 5 hours, even though we called ahead of time. Tried to get us to spend thousands when all we asked is to help the pet get through the weekend so we could take him to our vet during normal hours. We "picked" what we wanted done and then they didn't do what we asked without even offering us a chance to change our requests. And even what they did charge us for wasn't even done! They charged us for hydration via sub Q injection, and there was no sign that they had. We've had cats for over 40 years and know very well what to look for when a sub Q is done. Complete waste of time. It felt like the worst used car buying process ever without getting the car.
Worst emergency veteran I have ever used. Came in on a Sunday morning my dog had a swollen ear from hematoma. Mild ear infection made him shake his head too much. Vet gave him a steroid shot and ear medicine. Sent him home with his ear still engorged with blood. Had to arrange surgery at my vet later. Garners Ferry vet charged a lot less to do procedure by the way Palmetto /Two Notch vet clinic charged me and didn't fix the problem.
I had to visit this emergency vet for the first time this weekend with an injured dog. Having worked at an e-vet before, I am well aware of the potential wait times, and the increased cost of visiting a vet at midnight on a Saturday. The staff were patient and respectful, and I was honestly surprised that the trip did not cost more than it did. My only real complaint is that there was no formal discharge consult with the veterinarian. I had to leave my dog overnight for surgical repair of a bad wound, and I would have much appreciated a thorough discharge from by the veterinarian who performed the surgery, as opposed to simply being checked out and given instructions from the receptionist. Having the opportunity to discuss the injury and the procedure is important, given the serious nature of the visit.
