Do not live here. I have had a ton of trouble with the housing staff, and the apartments in general. There has been increased police presence recently because of criminal activity. The gates here are mostly for show, they are either broken, or just left open. I have had packages that have come up missing after Amazon says they delivered them. The staff kept sending me dates about moving out, when I asked them about it ( I believed I had a place to live for a year) they told me it was fine, and probably a mistake. They sent me a text giving me a move out date, and when I asked them for the third time about it they finally looked up my lease and said that I had to move out in 3 days. I now have to find a place to stay for 2 1/2 weeks, before I can move back in. When I asked them about whether I could drop my new lease within 24 hours, they said they wouldn't allow it. Do no live here. Do not let your college kids live here. There are better options in Columbia. This past month they decided they "forgot" to charge us overages, but they were quick to remind us that if we didn't pay quickly we would be charged overages. These kind of underhanded charges are what the past owners were known for, new owners same problems.
Do not live here. Both old and new management have proven to have the same problems. Have had issues with staff. Lived here for one year and all three roommates moved out as soon as we could. If you want to run into hidden charges and unset utilities live here. Let's see if you can enjoy that after sleeping on a bed less comfortable than bates dorm.
I love living here i have not experienced overages above 5 dollars and the repair team has always finished in a few days of recieving the report the amenities are great and the grounds are well kept. If your going to have to drive or take a shuttle any way this is the best place to live
I started living at 21 Oaks about 6 months ago. At first, I really liked it, but I would not longer recommend living here. Even though we try to save on electricity and water, we spend an average of about 30 dollars in overages each month (we live in a 3 bedroom apartment, so that adds up to about 90 dollars in overages between the three of us). During the summer, we keep the air conditioner at about 78 degrees. I have a second residence and only spend an average of 4 to 5 days in the apartment. But yet, with 594 dollars per bedroom, we still own almost a 100 dollars in overages per month. About a month ago, our air conditioner broke. It took a whole week to get it fixed, and we were still charged overages. The maintenance team did put a temporary air conditioning unit in the window (the unit only filled out about 1/3 of the window, the remaining space was duct taped). That was nice and helped our third floor apartment to stay a little cooler, but it obviously ran up the electric bill tremendously. Currently, our heater is broken. I put in a work order about 8 days ago. Three days later, somebody came to work on our perfectly working dryer, and closed the work order for the broken heat in the apartment. I reopened the case the same day, and the heat is still not working. Our apartment has been averaging between 58 and 65 degrees ever since. And we already know that the overages for November are arriving soon...
21 is an amazing community! I always feel so at home when I go to the leasing office for anything and all of the community assistants are so nice. All of the amenities are always clean and work orders are done quick. The fact that we're so close to the stadium and the fairgrounds put the icing on the cake. I love it here.
